There is a science and psychology to forgiveness that we can’t fully understand, but can definitely experience.  I have experienced both, being forgiven by friends for things I have done, and forgiving those who have wronged me.  I remember the amazing freedom that followed.

Forgiveness is an act of releasing your soul and that of others.  When someone has hurt you deeply or has perhaps betrayed you, it leaves you overwhelmed with feelings of disappointment and even hate. These sentiments are your constant companion’s night and day, and you are no longer free to think or feel anything but that resentment.

When you decide to forgive someone, you let go of the control that hate has over your soul, and you are released to the freedom of being able to choose what to think and feel again.

Offering forgiveness is a difficult process, but it releases others from guilt, remorse, pain and embarrassment. It often results in restored faith and friendships.

It is imperative that we learn to forgive, as it is a bridge that we ourselves must cross as we wish to be forgiven by God.

Forgive us, AS WE FORGIVE those who have wronged us… Matthew 6:12

It is a science well worth experiencing…
